Menumiz uses push notifications to send messages directly to the customer's device. The notifications will be displayed on the screen for a few seconds (subject to customers preferences) and also will be stored under notification history in the app. (To see them, just click the bell icon on the top right corner of the app beside the name)
Menumiz may send notifications in the following stages subject to order type( PAS, PAO, Dine in, Takeaway)
- Once the order is completed in the kitchen
- Once the order is ready for collection by the customer
- Once the order is ready for serving by the waiting staff
- Once the payment is done
NOTE: In case there is a technical problem with the notification, the system will send SMS to the customer registered mobile number.
Technically, sending a notification means completion of a step in the system flow and happens once only. There are cases, that you need to resend a notification (remind the customer to collect the order in a self-service restaurant). The system has a manual notification which acts as serving clearance by default, serving clearance and notification as an option.
serving clearance is used when an order (having many sub-orders) is completed in the kitchen but the waiting staff has forgotten or missed some parts to click "DONE". In this case, customer service can manually clear the serving queue. The same time, customer service can choose a pre-formatted message to be sent to the customer device.
To send a notification or clear a serving, go to Dashboard > Management > Serving Clearance and enter the serving ID manually using the pin pad.
NOTE: You cannot send a notification or clear a serving which is expired or not valid as a current order in the system.
To send the notification, please tick the checkbox under notification. Currently, Menumiz does not support custom text messages.
