Layout design

Menumiz has a fantastic floor layout design enabling you to choose among many tables, shapes and objects.

To start, please go to DASHBOARD > MANAGEMENT > FLOOR & QR MANAGEMENT and click on the GEAR icon at the down right corner of the page and follow the steps below:

Step 1:

On the right tool panel, click on + to add a table or an object.

Step 2:

1-Add a Table number

Table number should follow your real table numbering and allocation. You need to make sure the number adding here for the table, placed in the layout matches the number shown on the real table.

2- Select Serving Type between Dine in or Takeaway.

If you select Takeaway, the system will automatically allocate number 0 to it. There is no table to select for takeaway and the system just shows a Takeaway box on the floor which carries the order information.

3- Select the Payment Option.

PAS (Pay As Served) means your customer can place the order, have the meal and make payment before leaving.

PAO (Pay As Ordered) means your customer has to make payment upon submitting an order, otherwise, the order is not processed and the kitchen will not receive the order.

You can manage the availability of these two options under general setting also where you can select that your restaurant accepts only PAO or PAS or Both. If you chose one of the options only, here in floor management all tables will follow that choice as default.

4- Enter the Order Session

Order Session is the time (in minutes) that your customer can review the menu after scanning the QR code and make an order. During this time, the table is considered taken. If the customer does not submit an order within this period, then the system will release the table automatically, however, if you are still at the table, he or she has the option to request for extension which can be handled under "customer's requests".

You need to have a reasonable order session subject to the size of the table and type of the foods.

Step 3:

1-Choose a table from the vectors which is more similar to the real table you have.

There are many variations of tables and seats here. You may use each colour to show different sections in your floor (e.g.: indoor, outdoor ...), remember that you can rotate or resize them later using the rotation tool after adding them to the floor.

NOTE: There are tables with chairs by default as well as tables without any seating or chairs.

Step 1:

1-On right tool panel, click on to add a table or an object.

2- Click OBJECT.

3-Select the layer (stock order) you want the object to be in.

NOTE: The very top layer (Front) is reserved for tables only.

Step 2:

1- Select an object from the available vectors or shapes

There are a few basic objects such as walls, panels, window, pillar and etc. which are up view and can be resized, stretched and rotated later in the floor to mimic your restaurant layout.

Note: The sofas as an object will not get any number and is considered just like other objects. You may add a table ( without chair ) from tables to a sofa to reach your real restaurant design.

2- Click SELECT

Once you added a table or an object, then you have the following options to design your restaurant virtual floor in the system.

1: Moving Tables or Objects

You can select a table or an object and simply move it to any place by dragging it using mouse or finger (in a touchscreen)

2- You can select a table or an object and use the rotation tool to rotate the table or the object 360 degrees.

3- Select a table or an object, then click on resize tool to keep it in resize mode, you can resize any table or object to match your desired size.

NOTE: The panels or walls can be extended easily by resizing in length or height only while maintaining the thickens. ( aspect ratio is not locked) .

4- You can add a background to your floor by clicking on the background tool in tool panel and picking up any sample.

There are solid colour options and realistic tiles, carpets or marbles. Please note that background colour might interfere with the table colours and make them not visible.

Note: we will add more options and improve the way they look time to time.

5: You also can delete any table or object by simply selecting it and clicking on trash bin in the tool panel.

6: Click on EYE icon to go back to normal view.
