QR codes

Menumiz is a QR-based system which assigns QR code(s) to tables and enables your customers to retrieve the menu and make an order by scanning the QR code using Menumiz app on their devices.  Hence, QR codes are an important part of the system and need your attention.

There are two methods on assigning QR codes. The first method is using a general QR and share it for all tables whereas the customer needs to enter the table number manually upon scanning the QR code. Such QR code could be displayed any place in the restaurant, printing or electronic version ( e.g:  displayed on an LCD or an iPad at the entrance of the restaurant).

The second method is embedding the table number in the QR code and hence, each table will have its own unique  QR code and you need to display the QR code on the related table individually.

Method A ( General QR code  )

To use the first method: (general QR code) go to Dashboard > Configurations > General Settings > Table Configurations and select NO from the drop-down menu and click UPDATE.

Once you update the selection, you will see a QR at right and two boxes below as dining options.

You can reset the QR if required (e.g. the existing one is not working or someone is sending fake orders using a photo of the QR) - We recommend you update the QR often.

if you click Print icon, then you will have multiple choices of a template to download a PDF file and print. (You can download a sample)

The Billing Method

You also need to select your billing payment policy from the drop-down menu's inbox for dine-in orders.

  • Pay As Ordered (PAO) means the customer must make payment immediately after choosing the desired dishes, otherwise the orders will not be processed in the system.
  • Pay As Served (PAS) means the customer may serve the food first and pay later before leaving the restaurant.

NOTE: Takeaway orders are considered PAO by default and cannot be changed.

Order Session

Order session time also changes the duration (in mins) in which the customer must submit an order upon scanning the QR. During this period, the table is considered taken and no other customer can use the table (except the guests for the same customers). However, if the session expires, customers can request an extension and customer service can extend the timer for them.

Method B (Unique QR for each table)

To use the second method: (Unique QR code) go to Dashboard > Configurations > General Settings > Table Configurations and select YES from the drop-down menu and click UPDATE. (Default method is this method and YES is default selection when running the system for the first time)

The system will display the list of QR codes generated for each table here. (If Any).

  • However, you cannot reset the unique QR codes from Table Configuration and need to manage them under Floor and QR management module under each table separately. However, you may choose a template and download the QR here (PDF).

NOTE: Table 0 is reserved for Takeaway only.

Under this section, you can configure the billing method based on your internal policy. You will have three options for the tables:

  • Pay As Ordered (PAO) means the customer must make payment immediately after choosing the desired dishes, otherwise the orders will not be processed in the system.
  • Pay As Served (PAS) means the customer may serve the food first and pay later before leaving the restaurant.
  • Either means that you can have some tables PAS and some other PAO (These options can be chosen later when adding tables in the floor layout.).

NOTE: Takeaway orders are considered PAO by default and cannot be changed.

Please remember to click UPDATE on any change you make here.
